Where is the Newburgh Waterfront
It seems obvious that the Newburgh Waterfront is in the city of Newburgh, NY. The Newburgh waterfront is on the eastern most part of this bustling city.
But Newburgh is a big city and it may get confusing as to where the waterfront entrance is exactly. The easiest way to get to Newburgh’s waterfront area is to drive on Water Street to Front Street.
It is important to note that the majority of restaurants and waterfront area cannot be easily seen from Water Street and there are only a few streets that give you direct access to Front Street.
Newburgh, NY is located in Orange County, NY across the river from Dutchess County with Ulster County to the North.
If you’re looking for other things to do in after your visit to the Newburgh Waterfront, then this post is perfect for you.

8+ Places to Relax on the Newburgh Waterfront
Number 1: Relax while listening to live music
Billy Joe’s Ribworks is not just a location with spectacular views of the Hudson River and nearby Mount Beacon, their outdoor patio is large, airy and a great place to listen to live music. Lovers of baby back ribs, good wings and homemade sauces will be sure to love this place. They often have ‘themed’ evenings, including Country Night and Latin Night.
Pamela’s on the Hudson is not located on Front Street, but offers a spectacular view of the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge from the restaurant. Follow them on FB to stay up-to-date with their Live Music Schedule. In addition to being open some week nights for dinner, they also offer Sunday Brunch.
Number 2: Visit a Restaurant for Special Events
Blu Pointe Restaurant is one of the most popular restaurants on the Newburgh waterfront. It may be considered one of the pricey restaurants in the area, but in addition to offering a fine dining experience with amazing views on Front St., Blu Pointe offers special events, such as Wine Dinners featuring Wines of France.
They have a very pretty outdoor seated area and also offer dock and dine parking for those that are exploring the Hudson River on their boat.
Primo Waterfront is a wonderful place to have special events. Private dining rooms available for up to 100 people and the entire restaurant is available for larger events. Have a great meal here and see for yourself what they can do for your special event.
Number 3: Enjoy Seafood with a view
Captain Jake Restaurant is not only a great place to indulge in an abundant fresh seafood variety, but it’s also a great place to indulge in a specialty cocktail and their fresh raw bar selections (oysters, clams, mussels & shrimp).

River Grill is well-known for delicious food, even their specialty sandwiches and pork chops are made a step above the rest. Their menu offers something that will satisfy your taste buds and their elegant dining room add a special touch to their American eclectic cuisine.
Cafe Pitti offers Italian dishes and more. Best known for its wood burning oven, this waterfront restaurant is cozy and one of the nicest places for an intimate meal. Have a great meal here and finish it off with some delicious gelato.

How to elevate your waterfront experience
With beautiful views of the Hudson River, why not take the ferry across the river to Beacon, NY? The ferry runs weekdays during commuter times and is under $2.00 each way (at the time of this posting).
You can always take a stroll down the waterfront path, sit on some of the park benches and enjoy the view of the Hudson River and the mountains of Dutchess County as your backdrop. I’ve even seen locals bring their own folding chairs to enjoy an afternoon or evening at the Newburgh Waterfront.
This does not necessarily need to be a warm weather activity. I have often stopped by riverfront and admire the view even in the winter.
